5 Essential Jackets for Winter

Now that the summer clothing has been put away and the cold weather clothing is in full rotation, it's time to evaluate what's missing from your closet. Are you set on the ultimate winter essential? A warm jacket. Here in the midwest, one coat is never enough.

The Northern Hemisphere is bearing down for the cold months ahead, so go on and treat yourself this season to one (or all!) of these five must-have winter jackets.

Long Puffer Coat

Keep covered from head to toe in a cozy down puffer jacket. No need to sacrifice style for warmth with a streamlined version of the puffer coats of yesteryear.

One of our favorite picks is Soia & Kyo "Rachela" Hooded Down Coat. Featuring a straight-fit this down coat provides maximum warmth down to your knees, and an oversized hood shields your face from the elements. And don't worry if you get caught out in the rain/snow - the water-resistant/repellent shell will keep you dry from office to errands. Extreme cold weather gear... ✔

Multi-Function Trench

While practical, puffer jackets and down coats aren't always the right fit for workdays or formal evenings out. Staying warm is still the priority, so look for a jacket that includes additional features to keep you protected from the cold air. Glamour recently shared their top 10 picks, many of them trench coats - take a peek.

Our winner is the Soia & Kyo "Perle" Mixed Media Coat. In a rich oxblood hue, this A-line, knee-length jacket oozes sophistication. Featuring a removable puffy bib and hood, as well as a tie belt, this contemporary trench flatters any shape.

Bomber Jacket

Typically a jacket for more mild weather, a bomber style can be perfect for mild winter days. Wear it alone with a scarf and sweater, or layer it under for a pulled-together look once the heavy exterior parka is removed.

New to Queen Anna, the Parka NY "Jesse" Bomber Jacket packs a punch. A two-for-one piece that provides a colorful fur lining that can be removed for an instantly cool vest, and an external outer layer that is waterproof. Who said winter fashion couldn't be chic?

Teddy Coat

Winter solstice approved - cozy, fuzzy, oh-so-chic, teddy coats. Who doesn't immediately feel on-trend when rocking one of the season's hottest looks? This season multiple versions of the trendy jacket have come on the scene. Oversized, wrapped, cropped... so many winter styles to choose from.

In-store and online, we have a few fun options available, including the Moon River Waist Tie Fur Coat. Made from ultra-soft faux-fur, this oversized coat features a belted waist to accentuate your curves - pop over a base layer for a high-fashion look.

Another delightfully soft option is a shearling jacket. Popsugar shares a few top picks that can stand the test of time.

Leather Moto Jacket

Not typically considered a key winter coat, don't rule out a leather jacket this season. Similar to bomber jackets, a leather moto, crop or tunic style can be effortlessly layered with a sweater, scarf, and hat to create an edgy look on a warmer day. Leather styles are also a great option for cocktail hour, date nights and evenings on the town when you're looking to reduce bulk.

Lucky for you, we have select leather jackets on sale through the end of the year. One of our favorites is the Bano eeMee "Naz" Leather Jacket. Bano leathers are incredibly luxe and ethically beautiful, made with vegetable-dyed lamb leather and adorned with rose gold hardware - it's the perfect blend of femininity and edge.
